Happy Easter holidays everyone. So it's been just over 6 months since the successful launch of my new book ‘Unveiling Faith’. It's been a great first book launch experience and I have learnt so much along the way. You can watch a good number of my videos since book launch on my Youtube channel here.
I decided to get this writing platform going again for all those who would like to continue to read my writing and take the next steps in their growth, transformation and unveiling faith. Many of you have expressed the desire to grow within a community of like minded people and I would like to create that community right here on substack where we can begin to share, interact and grow together. I will also be releasing podcasts of encouragement and steps to take along your journey.
Let me start by sharing some of my lessons learnt from my book launch experience:
Give yourself time and space to write and don’t rush the process, allow what is on the inside to flow out.
Write when you can, more insight comes when you begin to write and ponder over what you have written
Find ways that inspire your thinking e.g. I discovered that when I went for my morning walks I got a flood of ideas to write on so I took my phone and recorded the ideas as I walked.
Form a discussion group if need be to inspire your writing and give you new ideas
Form an accountability group to keep you in check if you need a push.
Get a coach if you get stuck and have the budget for it. A writing coach helped me complete my book.
You don’t have to write too much to publish, even a booklet can go a long way in getting your voice out and acting as a launch pad for further publications or even open doors to new opportunities for you. You never know who might read your booklet.
Use your existing network to find relevant contacts for your book launch or spreading the word. I got a TV interview through a friend of a friend. You can watch the interview here.
Be patient in growing your audience, if you want organic growth like I do, then invest the time to build up your social media channels and followership and stay engaged with them by responding to comments and asking them questions. In time you will attract a truly engaged audience and not just numbers.
Find local events that you could speak at to promote your writing or your work.
Keep spreading the word about what you are doing and be passionate about it.
Have faith in God and your ability and don’t be afraid to take new steps of faith - that’s how you grow.
All the lessons above can be applied to other areas of your life or other types of work you are doing such as launching a business or taking a gift or talent to the next level. I have many tips which I will be releasing over the coming weeks.
What is it that you are currently working on or wanting to begin doing? I had to take the step to begin writing and stay through to completing the book and now I am blessed by the testimonies of lives that are being impacted by my book. Are there people out there in the world missing out on something because you haven’t launched out in faith? Believe in yourself.
As I end this week’s letter, I would like to ask you the following questions and please do take some time to ponder over these questions and leave me a comment with your answers and also what you think of this publication. Let’s begin to interact as a community and grow together. In a year’s time, I would like you to be much further along our journey because you have been challenged to grow out of your comfort zone.
Questions to ponder
What are you currently working on? Anything you can share with this community so we can support you or cheer you on?
Is there a goal or vision for your life that has been lying dormant for years and you would like to begin to work on?
What little steps can you take this week to set the goal in motion?
How can this community encourage you?
Please note I will be starting a chat thread on this platform for our community so we can start having live and engaging conversations to enhance our interactions. Watch out for my email invite to this chat. You will also receive a podcast from me shortly.
That’s it for the week. Hope you have a truly productive week. I look forward to your comments, let's begin building our community to learn and grow together. Please do like and share this publication with anyone you think will benefit from being a part of this community.
